Not a clear explanation
in this photo-tale of heart
simply stated not everything
ends up the way it starts
a tomato whose light
might have easily been lost
unseen, unappreciated
or even worse…tossed.
I am thankful for my sight
that allowed a second chance
to sense this warm embrace
like a summer’s slow dance.
As if a message
from the other side
appeared to me
by its inner shine
a shimmering reflection
of what once was mine.
A tomato turned salad,
then photo for home
seeks new meaning
love’s symbol,
evolves
in homage
for a poem.
